The Pigeon Key Foundation and Marine Science Center would like to introduce our newest staff members that have joined our team for the 2017 Education Season! These three interns will assist in teaching our school groups about the importance of the Florida Keys ecosystem around our island!

Chelsea Petrik holds a Biology degree from the University of Central Florida and is a native Floridian hailing from Oldsmar, Florida. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for preserving wildlife and hopes to impact the younger generations to be conscious of their environment.

Jill Zerkowski grew up in Buffalo, New York and attended the University of Buffalo earning her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies. She is excited to be a part of the Pigeon Key staff and to share her knowledge and love of the marine environment with others!

Callie Clarke comes to us from Denver, Colorado and received a degree in Biology and Chemistry from Colorado Mesa University. She looks forward to applying her extensive teaching experience and love of the outdoors to the students that visit Pigeon Key.

Come on out and meet our interns who will be living and working on Pigeon Key until mid-August. Also keep an eye out for them and the rest of the staff at the Marathon Seafood Festival, Bahia Honda Earth Day Celebration and other local outreach events throughout the year!
