The Pigeon Key Foundation was honored to host the 2015 Fish with a Hero: Project Healing Waters Tennessee Valley Region from September 22nd – 25th. This was the second year for this great event and everyone involved is already looking forward to next year! Around 55 lucky veterans called Pigeon Key home for four days and were treated to delicious meals, picturesque views, and of course great fishing! Several Marathon area charter captain generously donated their time and resources to take these men and women out on the water for two amazing days of fishing. Project Healing Waters is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fishing education and outings.
The Pigeon Key Foundation looks forward to hosting these heroes next year for more successful fishing experiences.
