The following information below will apply to historical tours when they resume August 8th

Spots on the ferry boat will be limited and visitor’s will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets can be purchased in-person at our Visitor’s Center and Gift Shop at 1090 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050. Our shop will be open between 9:30AM-4PM each day and any questions can be answered at 305-743-5999.

To keep our ferry crew, tour guides, staff and visitors safe, we will be requiring masks for admittance to the island and our tours will be based off of social-distancing suggestions. Hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations will be available to guests and highly recommended before and after you access our ferries. The island will have certain areas that are off-limits to visitors that will be clearly marked. Please respect the Pigeon Key Staff and avoid these areas.

Visitor’s will have access to our on-island Museum, bathroom facilities, water fountain, tourist area, and beach area. If you choose to snorkel around the island, please be sure to fill out a Snorkel Waiver in our Visitor’s Center, be mindful of the changing tides and bring a dive flag.

Our guided, historical tours consist of a short oral narration about the history of the island, a walk-about the grounds to learn about the history of the buildings and the chance for self exploration around the island or in our museum. It is a family-friendly tour and great for folks of all ages!

Guidelines and safety protocols related to COVID-19 are necessary to create a safe environment for all. We will have signage and CDC regulations on the island-grounds and in our Visitor’s Center and Gift Shop. The Pigeon Key Staff ask that you follow these guidelines and appreciate your understanding.

We are excited to be able to open the island back up to the public this coming Monday and will keep you updated as changes are made to our tour schedule for the summer.

Tours are subject to change due to many factors. Please call our Visitor’s Center at 305-743-5999 ahead of time to make sure we are running that day. We always make announcements on our Facebook page about changes to the tour schedule.
