The Pigeon Key Foundation and Marine Science Center would like to introduce our newest intern staff that have joined our team for the 2018 Education Season!

Dana Norton graduated from the College of Charleston in South Carolina with a degree in Marine Biology. She has an extended background working in environmental education and the marine field and is excited to be here in Florida using her love of nature as a way to give back to the Keys community.

Emma Guss is a native of Miami, Florida and received a degree in Environmental Studies from Florida State University. She has previously worked to protect nesting sea turtles and came to the Keys to further her career in the marine science field. Emma looks forward to teaching both students and visitors about the environment and ways to conserve our marine ecosystems.

Victoria was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia and recently graduated with a degree in Wildlife Conservation from Virginia Tech. With a background in environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation, Victoria is looking forward sharing her many passions with the students of Pigeon Key!

Gary McFee comes to the Keys from the mountains of North Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree in marine biology from UNC-Wilmington and has previous experience in marine education and shark research. Gary hopes to teach visitors of Pigeon Key about the ocean and to appreciate its inhabitants to ensure the conservation of marine life for future generations.

These four interns will assist in teaching our school groups about the importance of the Florida Keys ecosystem around our island! You can find them and the rest of our staff locally at events such as the Marathon Seafood Festival, MOTE Oceanfest in Key West, and FMSEA in Fort Lauderdale.
